	Royal Internation Horse Show 28th July - 1st August We will be exhibiting again at the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead this week, so if you are visiting please stop by our stand on competitors row and come and have a look at some of the new saddles and bridlework we are now doing. 	Outdoor Gelderland - The Netherlands June 9-13th We had a great show, as always it was a good chance to meet with the public and get feedback on our saddles already out there and other ideas. 	Black Country in It has been a long time in the “wings” so to speak but Black Country Saddles can now reveal that over 12 months ago it was asked to produce the saddles for the latest Ridley Scott blockbuster “Robin Hood” featuring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett which is released next week. This was a really exciting project for us as these saddles were far from our usual production, Nikki visited Shepperton Studios to consult with the creative designers on the styles of a medieval saddle. After many discussions, designs we agreed upon for an array of models including the Cardinals Men, King Johns Guards and most importantly Maid Marions. The finishing touches to each saddle was individual with the ornate metalwork and we were given pretty much free rein which involved a lot of ideas and great deal of fun in the factory. So if you do go to see the film, dont forget to look out for our saddles galloping past you on screen! Added: 7th May 2010

Leathercare instructions: • Ensure your leatherwork is treated initially before using to help maintain the long term finish of the leather • Wipe away any excess dirt and grease with a damp cloth and allow to dry naturally before application • Apply by working gently into the leather with a dry cloth • Allow leather to dry and then buff off with a cloth or very soft brush • Regular application will ensure longevity of the leather Do not use on suede or sensitive leathers Store in a dry and cool place Made in England Added: 6th April 2010

Please keep this safe as it is a unique number which holds the records of your saddle should it be needed in the future for any enquiries or insurance purposes. 	New saddler at the bench We are pleased to announce that we have welcomed a new saddler to the bench. Martin Jones has joined us from a 32 year career as a saddler at Jeffries, so there is no doubt of the experience and expertise that he brings with him. With many thanks to you all, we are fortunate to have been busy in the past few months "touch wood". This will help to ease the pressure on keeping our delivery times to the usual 3-4 weeks. 	Lorna's July update Lorna Hogg and De Marco's - news update on her new Celeste saddle July 2009. "I have just returned from the Home International and Celtic Challenge after successfully completing another 2 day 160km ride this time for the Scottish Team. Scotland were 2nd in both events! Really delighted once again, especially since the conditions were less than ideal. I guess Kay also told you how much muscle he has put on across his back!! It was quite amazing to see! 	Hickstead and BSPS Working Hunter sponsorship The Black Country Saddles BSPS Supreme Working Hunter Pony Championship went to Mrs Sloan’s Highgrove Valentino ridden by Stuart Sloan who had travelled all the way from Scotland, so a trip worthwhile. Mostly the weather held off for the show and attendance was as good as ever. Our own sponsored rider Cassie Hartley was placed a credible 8th in The Jackson Homes/BSPS Intermediate Large Show Riding Championship riding the 8 year old Classic Coincidence. 	Lorna's Golden Horse Shoe The Celeste Endurance/dressage has just won its first Golden Horse Shoe. Congratulations to Lorna Hogg from Inverurie, Scotland who recently won the ultimate test of endurance riding 160km over 2 days across Exmoor on her 13 year old gelding De Marco (TB x Welsh). Lorna had the Celeste fitted by Kay Hastilow, since then has seen a great improvement "it is certainly working for us – his back is so soft and supple and looks great after a ride!" Lorna has represented the winning Scottish Team on 3 occasions and also competes De Marco in affiliated dressage with this saddle representing Findon Riding Club at the Riding Club Championships. 	Saddles at Ralph Lauren Designer label—We were recently contacted by Ralph Lauren (not him personally!) referral from Dragonfly Saddlery in Sussex to supply some saddles on loan for the launch of their Home Collection in the London store. The launch took place early March with interior designers, journalists and top clients in attendance. The saddles were dressed with drapes and throws. Great publicity! Added: 12th October 2009
	BSPS Rider of the Year Sponsorship We are sponsoring the BSPS Rider of the Year Competition, formerly sponsored by Harry Hall. Riders qualify by being awarded a best rider card at a show affiliated to the BSPS for the final championship show to be held in August at Arena UK in August. Winners of the 10 sections from lead rein to under 25’s will each receive a Black County jacket and then go forward to the Rider of the Year Championship with the champion being presented a Black Country Saddle.
